Anti Wrinkle Injection Aftercare

What can you expect?

The clinical effects will be seen straight after your anti-wrinkle injection but you will also have some swelling from the anesthetic and the reaction of having an injection.

It is normal to have some redness, swelling and tenderness in the area treated by the anti-wrinkle injection and this will pass quickly.

It is recommended that you apply you can apply a cool compress to relieve swelling and bruising and that you have Paracetamol if you need any thing for the tenderness.

After the anti-wrinkle injection we suggest that

  • You do not apply cosmetic for 48 hours
  • Especially avoid moisturiser or products that contain AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids/Glycolics), BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acids) or Retinoids
  • You do not exercise strenuously for 48 hours
  • You avoid extremes of hot or cold for 48 hours
  • You avoid drinking alcohol for 48hours (it opens the blood vessels and may increase swelling or bleeding)
  • You should avoid blood thinner products (Aspirin/Disprin and anti inflammatory)
  • You should drink regularly during the day (approximate 8 glasses of water is recommended daily)
  • You can gently massage any lumps in the treated area carefully with clean fingers
  • For the next 14 days you NOT have facials, waxing, Gycolic or AHA peels, liquid Nitrogen or Laser treatments in the same area
  • Laser resurfacing be done after the dermal filler has disappeared from the skin.

It may be that the effects you desire will require additional filling. We recommend that you return to Results Laser Clinic so that we can assess your satisfaction with the outcome after 2-4 weeks and if required we can reform “top ups” or additional filling. You may benefit from anti-wrinkle injections to surrounding areas.

The effects will last between 6-9 months so we recommend that you stay ahead of the affects of skin damage and repeat the anti-wrinkle injections before the problem area become too noticeable.
