Fractional Laser Aftercare

1.   The area treated by fractional laser for stretch marks, pigmentation and scars may appear red and slightly swollen after your session is complete. If your skin feels slightly warm, apply a cool/ice compress to the treated area when you get home. This will accelerate your skin’s recovery time after your fractional laser treatment.

2.   Do not pick, scratch, scrub or rub the treated skin during the fractional laser process

3.   Try to only wash with cold or tepid water for the first day after fractional laser treatment while your skin is in the recovery stage. Be gentle on your skin and avoid the use of strongly scented lotions or soaps, exfoliating creams and aggressive scrubbing to the treated area as this may cause you slight discomfort.

4.   The redness will gradually subside over the next 2-5 days.  In some cases it lasts up to 4 weeks. Until the redness has resolved, avoid all of the following

  1. The use of AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) or Vitamin A products
  2. Swimming pools and spas with multiple chemicals/chlorine
  3. Activities that cause excessive perspiration

5.   You may use Real Results Recovery Gel as often as you like after your treatment, as the active ingredient has a cool calming agent.

6.   If treating the face, do not apply makeup the same day unless it is a mineral makeup.

7.   Always remember to apply your SPF 30+ sunscreen everyday to protect your skin from the Australian sun.
