About stained teeth/ whitening (condition)
Smoking, drinking wine, soft drink and coffee, and eating certain types of food are just a few of the factors that can cause stained teeth. It is natural for the colour of people’s teeth to vary, but combining our lifestyle factors with genetics can often give our teeth a yellowish, brown, dark tinged, unsightly stain. When the enamel (outer layer) of the teeth has been penetrated by plaque and coloured, organic compounds, this causes teeth to become stained, and change colour. As we age, and the enamel of the teeth thins and becomes more porous, it becomes even easier for our teeth to become stained. Some types of mouthwash and antibiotics can even cause discolouration! Due to a combination of these factors, sometimes the change in our teeth from white to stained can be so slow, that we don’t even notice the gradual deterioration.

The process for teeth whitening is composed of three main components.
Accelerated teeth whitening is achieved by placing the correct amount of professional, dental grade hydrogen peroxide on to the surface of your teeth. The iBrite™ LED cool blue light is then shone onto the teeth, and the wavelengths of light initiate a hydrogen peroxide reaction that speeds up the molecules stained to the teeth, and causes a reaction that instantly whitens your smile. A post treatment whitening gel is then administered to further enhance the whitening experience.
This whitening process is performed by trained professionals, and has been designed to safely remove years of damage and staining to your teeth. It takes about 30 minutes, and can leave your teeth a minimum of 3-5 shades lighter after your very first treatment (and often more). This tooth whitening process is extremely effective, and can last for 1-2 years, depending on your lifestyle factors.

What to expect during teeth whitening treatments
The teeth whitening treatment is quick, easy and lasts approximately 30 minutes. As with all treatments at Results Laser Clinic, a consultation precedes the treatment, which will assess your teeth, and the suitability of your teeth for the teeth whitening program. After that, you will lay down on a comfortable bed while the treatment is administered by friendly, fully trained professionals.
Results after treatment
The effects of this treatment can last 1-2 years depending on your lifestyle and habits. If your teeth are maintained, and all the factors that contributed to the original teeth stains are avoided, then your teeth will retain their beautiful white finish for a long period of time. Your teeth will generally become 3-5 shades lighter after the very first treatment; however this is only a bare minimum. Often the teeth will improve even more dramatically than that.
