Why are there two technologies available for the treatment of broken capillaries?
Each of the technologies we use, are specific to certain treatment requirements. We recommend facial capillaries be treated with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) as it can be quite easily targeted to fine detail areas. Candela’s ND:YAG Laser is more suitable for broken capillaries or spider veins found in other parts of the body as it is more suitable to larger treatment areas due to its ability to be customised more accurately in both depth and width.
What causes broken capillaries?
Broken capillaries are most often caused by environmental factors including wind and sun damage. They can also be caused by hereditary factors, aging, extreme temperatures, hormone therapy, stress and fatigue, and oral contraception.
Do Capillary and Vein treatments hurt?
Broken capillary treatment is virtually painless! Some people describe the sensation as a tingling or a slight pinching sensation. Results Laser Clinic laser equipment features Air Cooling Compatible (ACC) which directs high air flow at the treatment area during treatment to counteract and cool the targeted area during treatment. Our clinical staff will also offer a topical anaesthetic to those with high skin sensitivity. And because it is a non-surgical treatment, you will be able to continue with your day immediately after treatment.
What Results Can I Expect?
The broken capillary treatments work by breaking up the veins so that they can dissolve and be absorbed back into the body. This does not happen immediately, usually taking several weeks to dissolve. However, most veins can be permanently removed, and touch-ups every 6 to 12 months will maintain your new refreshed look. Following our detailed aftercare advice and indulging in a full course of treatment will maximise your results.
Who is a good candidate for vein treatments?
Broken capillary treatments are safe for all skin types and all vein appearances, although not recommended for raised veins such as varicose veins. Every session is individualised to your needs, by our highly trained specialists who will also provide you with a customised treatment plan.. The IPL treatment is recommended for most people, except those who are affected by muscular disorders, pregnant or breastfeeding.
Are these treatments safe?
Absolutely! Laser systems are used worldwide – and our specific technologies are renowned for their high quality as well as being rated in the world’s top two medically-graded technologies. The Laser technologies treat only the targeted areas without affecting the surrounding skin.
What can I expect after treatment?
After treatment, your skin may feel slightly warm, so to help cool the skin and accelerate your recovery time, apply a cool pack for about 15 mins when you get home. Make sure to avoid hot baths or using lotions, soaps and exfoliating creams. Excessive scrubbing on the treated areas is also not advised. We recommend you use Real Results Recovery Gel to continually soothe and calm the skin at home. You will be given more detailed aftercare instructions to follow to ensure your recovery at home proceeds smoothly.
We recommend booking your next treatment between 2 and 4 weeks later. Indulging in regular ongoing treatments will not only ensure the best results for eliminating your broken capillaries, but will also continue to improve the appearance of your skin by providing you with even skin tone, reducing pore size and wrinkles and generally giving you healthy, youthful looking skin.
